"What Is This, A Gallery For Ants?" Yes.

The "smallest art exhibition on record" offers a tongue-in-cheek, micro take on "epic" photography.

A miniature photo show exhibited this past weekend during the US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, California. Billed as "the world's smallest art exhibition," the project featured coin-sized photographs, mini benches, ropes, lights, and even white walls—all which could be magnified through a olloclip Macro photo lens tethered to a smart phone. What is this, a gallery for ants, you might ask? Yes, admits olloclip's Tim DeBrincat, it is: Derek Zoolander's School for Kids Who Can’t Read Good and Want To Do Other Stuff Good Too was totally the inspiration for A Gallery For Ants.

The artwork at the exhibition paralleled the nearby surf competition, as the gallery showcased several micro versions of adventure and sports photographer Chris Burkard's travel photos. The work on display work included shots of gorgeous beaches, lonesome sufers, and other paradise lost-type images, all shot with olloclip's mobile tech. As intended, each photo highlighting a vast space, but the frames were ironically shrunk down to the type of art that would appear in Gulliver's Travels—a tongue-in-cheek twist on "epic" photography.

The tiny exhibition will be travelling to other art spaces in the near future, especially since most of the exhibition could be fit in a single backpack. We bet Derek Zoolander would be proud.
