Are GIFs the future of music videos? While we're certainly big fans of the art form, our eyes are still adjusting to the visual explosion that is "Tendency" by Liquid Pegasus and Estate. "Tendency" is different from normal, hum-drum music videos in that it was made entirely using photos-turned-GIFs by NYC-based artist (and Estate band member) Josh Johnson, taken in various locations throughout the city.Capturing the frenetic pace of New York, the song's hook-y, ambient rhythms mix perfectly with this 3D tour of the boroughs.Shot with a vintage Nimslo camera (which takes four frames simultaneously--perfect for GIFing), Johnson scanned the 35mm negatives and used Photoshop to complete the process. Like a digital flip book, let "Tendency" guide you through Johnson's hometown:Estate + Liquid Pegasus - Tendency (Official Video) from Estate on Vimeo. Now you can…Hang out with your friends near City Hall…Buy a hot dog for someone nice……and hang out in the park with some dogs and bongos.Consider yourself a New York native at this point! For more of Johnson work you can visit joshethanjohnson.comEstatefacebook.com/EstateMusicSoundcloud: soundcloud.com/estateLiquid PegasusFB: facebook.com/liquidpegasusfansSoundcloud: soundcloud.com/liquidpegasus
