The Emmy award-winning comedy series, Veep, has finally returned for its sixth season and we can't think of a better way to celebrate than an exhibition of original fan art. This month, HBO partners with Gallery 1988 to put on a group showing of paintings, prints, and embroidery works inspired by the show. Selina Meyer and her top aides are reimagined as Game Boy characters, postage stamps, cartoon busts, and hilarious caricatures. Director of program advertising for HBO, Yauny Wheaton, told Mashable last week, "Veep fans love the show's iconic and hilarious characters, and we thought that an art show would be a really fun way to allow some of our artistic fans to reinterpret their favorite characters and scenes through their own works." Some of the artist in the show include: Chet Phillips, Barry Blankenship, and Lou Pimentel. In past years, the Pop art-inspired Gallery 1988 has hosted tributes to shows like Rick and Morty, Bob's Burgers, and Seinfeld; this Veep-themed show, however, is the first of its kind. Check out more artworks from the show below:The Veep show is on at the gallery's West side location from now until April 22nd.
