Noisey Are Throwing a 'You Need to Hear This' Party This Week

The drinks are free and you're all invited.

This spring, our friends at Noisey launched "You Need to Hear This" – a new online music platform in association with Phillips (the headphone guys, not the 39-year-old Blackpool striker). In case you have no interest in discovering great new music curated by people with impeccable tastes and haven't yet visited the site, YNTHT aims to wade through the sewers of hype and pluck out genuinely creative new musical talent, presenting original stories through music videos, short films, documentaries, live events and daily articles.

There's already been one documentary following Is Tropical as they toured Mongolia – as I'm sure you'll know, only the second Western band to do so after Boney M; a trilogy of short films exploring the resurgence of vinyl, tape and radio; and a new project that offers a seriously rare insight into DOOM – AKA the guy who's made not doing interviews one of his trademarks – and his collaboration with legendary artist Steve Powers.

Because that's obviously all great news, Noisey are throwing a party this Thursday to celebrate – and you can apply for tickets here. You'll definitely want to apply for tickets, too, because Is Tropical and some special guests are playing live, Bloodshake, Principals and You Need to Hear This DJs will be spinning the ones and twos, and all the booze is free.
