Yesterday, fashion label, Rodarte, took fashion to a new stratosphere by melding Jedis and high-end womenswear for its 2014 Fall collection. The collection sported five dresses with salient Star Wars tropes, including Luke Skywalker, the Death Star, the suns of Tatooine, C-3PO, R2-D2, and even Yoda.Though this doesn't totally answer what the lovechild of Comic Con and Fashion Week would look like (the audience included your typical fashion presentation crowd), it certainly comes close. If you think fanboys might be peeved at the fashion world re-appropriating their beloved icons, think again: a Lucasfilm spokeswoman confirmed to the New York Post that Lucasfilm and its parent company, Disney, collaborated with Rodarte to birth the designs. We can't tell what is more alien-friendly: the space tropes or the so-sharp-they-could-cut-glass cheekbones of the models wearing the Star Wars dresses.Either way, this is a beautiful union of beauty and geek.Check out more photos from the Rodarte show at New York Daily News.
