Meat, flesh, and sex abide in Oda Jaune's latest body of work, Blues Skies. The Bulgarian-born, German-trained, and now, Paris-based artist laughs in the face of labels, taking figurative painting to a whole new level by exploring the generally intimidating realms of imagination, appropriation, and obsession. Her highly personal and vividly tactile style is marked by a resolute optimism coupled with a liberated vision free from practical conventions, hence the fairy tale name of the exhibition, which will be on view at the Galerie Templon in Paris January 9 through February 20, 2016. The exhibition will be a glimpse into her inner world, where “she subjects [her obsessions] to a constant process of change and reinvention” and “unashamedly explores the images that lurk in the subconscious” through skillful craft and emotional beauty.Oda Jaune's Blue Skies will be on dislpay at Galerie Templone in Brussels from January 9 - February 20, 2016.
