2015 Will Be Ruled By LO’99; Listen to His Remix of Röyksopp’s “Sordid Affair”

The rising Australian producer steps into the spotlight.

Röyksopp's year was pretty much dominated by their collaboration with Robyn on the beautiful EP Do It Again. So you might have missed that the duo also released what they say will be their final studio album, The Inevitable End, in November. The LP features the standout track "Sordid Affair," which now gets a remix treatment from the relatively unknown Australian producer LO'99.

"When I found out I was going to be remixing it, I wanted to make sure I could pay homage to the original and add my flavor without destroying the vibe," says LO'99 of his remix. "I made a few different versions that had much more 'clubby' drops, like some of my other remixes, but they seemed to not really suit the song so I pulled it all back."

LO'99 has picked up momentum in recent weeks with an official remix for Kaskade and John Dalbäck's "A Little More." He's also proved his chops with his own sexily deep record Take Me Back, and another remix of CRNKN's "Heart." The Röyksopp gig is a precursor to what could be a big 2015 for the producer, and it's one he's proud to have in his arsenal.

"For me this mix is perfect," he says. "It's still a song and something I can listen to at home but I can also play earlier at a club."
