Listen To Abstraxion's HAKT Mix for THUMP

A sinister techno/electro/disco mix that would make Moroder pop on a mask and flail around.

This week's mix comes the French producer Abstraxion (Harold Boué), who's put together a blend of dark-yet-dancey techno/electro/disco jams perfect for this hallowed time of year. After a string of 12-inches on his own label, Biologic Records, Abstraxion is unleashing his debut album Break of Lights next month with HAKT Recordings, and judging from this moody mix, it'll be a devilish doozy. The hour-long journey picks up a mixed bag of sinister tricks—look out for everyone's favorite techno sorcerer James Holden, adult-Casper Thom Yorke, and Parisian veteran vocalist Chloé. But it really kicks up somewhere in the 32-minute mark, when a monster voice starts chanting "magico disco" over sleazy Italo beats. It's enough to make Moroder pop on a mask and flail around.
