In The Second Transmission Of Animal Collective Radio, Deakin And Friends Delve Deeper Into Psychedelia

Joined by Pantha du Prince, Turquoise Wisdom, and DOODcast for nearly three hours of trippy tracks and heavy echo.

If you did your Sunday right, then you just got done listening to “Transmission 2” of Animal Collective Radio, the radio mix series curated by the band surrounding their upcoming album Centipede Hz. Following last week’s eclectic blend hosted by Panda Bear of Animal Collective, and featuring mixes by Black Dice, Sublime Frequencies, and Haunted Graffiti, this week’s transmission hosted by Deakin of Animal Collective delves even deeper into psychedelia. Turquoise Wisdom, DOODcast, and Pantha du Prince join Deakin, and in their mixes each contributor takes us on a distinct aural journey through the most hallucinogenic sounds music history has to offer. See below for the tracklists.

If you haven’t checked out “Transmission 2” yet, hear it here.

And in case you missed it, you can hear “Transmission 1” here.

If you’re even a little bit sonically inclined, create your own mix with whatever songs you want and share it with Animal Collective. You can download a package of the outer space sounds used in the band’s transmissions and use them in your mix. They were even nice enough to include instructions on how to make your own similar sounds. Once your mix is ready, all you have to do is log into your Mixcloud (or create an account, which takes a few seconds), upload your mix, put “Centipede Radio” somewhere in the title and tag it with “Animal Collective YouMix,” and your sounds will be shared with the band and the world. If yours is one of five randomly selected mixes, you’ll receive a Centipede Hz vinyl test pressing.

Detailed instructions can be found here.

So get mixin’! And stay tuned with The Creators Project for the next transmissions.
