Photo via Shawn LaChapelleEverything about sister duo Prince Rama is extreme. The band has become obsessed with xtreme sports, and their upcoming record Xtreme Now pays homage to adrenaline junkies—and the kitschiness of the 80s. Prince Rama’s Nimai and Taraka Larson have gotten really into the theme of skating and motorcycles and energy drinks, or, shall we say, living on the edge. They came up with their most recent album theme while they were living at a black metal community in Estonia, inspired by a near-death experience Taraka underwent at an ancient Viking ruins on the Estonian island of Vȫrmsi. If anything, we can all learn a little something about taking risks from Prince Rama.Prior to the release of their forthcoming album, Nimai and Taraka talked about their need for their custom energy drink, kimonos and cowboy hats.We need our fashion and makeup to keep us looking as xtreme on the outside as we feel on the inside. We usually pair our samurai kimonos with chainmail (stage outfits made by Mess Queen).Tour essential. We try to hit up as many hot springs and saunas as possible in between shows or late, late night after we perform. Nature's muscle relaxers, mahn. You can take the girls out of Texas, but you can never take Texas out of the girls. We always need a can of our custom Xtreme Now energy drink close at hand to keep us in the Xtreme NRG Zone. After endless streaks of crashing at 4 or 5am and hitting the road at 8am, these eyemasks are vital to stave off sunlight and continue the vampire lifestyle. We're never caught without a metal soundtrack on tour to get us PUMPED.Whenever we want to be xtremely anonymous in public.
