It's Art: Jeanette Hayes Celebrates Halloween

Every now and then, The Creators Project comes across an artwork that surprises and delights us—every bit as much as it totally confuses us and otherwise has us begging for answers. This is art that defies conventions, challenges sensibilities, and breaks the walls down between around both critique and understanding. You might like it—you might not "get it." But we do. Turn on, take a deep breath, and just remember: it's art!

On her Twitter, Jeanette Hayes says, "i'm an artist in nyc - people i may remind you of: Ivanka Trump/ Joan Rivers/ Heidi Montag/ Donatella Versace/ Jonbenet Ramsey/ Tamar Braxton/ Jeff Koons [sic]." She's also known for her oil paintings of the internet. Her new Halloween collection on DIY self publishing platform NewHive features a skeleton in an office chair, Britney Spears, and horrifiying chainsaw sound effects.

Here's Jeanette Hayes's exclusive statement about her new work:

do you realize that mary poppins was a witch ? 

was willy wonka a witch?

would you attend a ghost beauty pageant 

wtf is more beautiful

are there ghosts in smoke ? 

do u ever watch ripley's believe it or not

me either but ive heard of it

it might be like a generational thing 

oh wait- i just googled it and it's a place not a tv show lol

wasnt it a tv show too?

yeah i just googled that too- it was

too scared to watch a youtube of it

i freaking hate being scared

these newhives arent scary

theyre just like spooky
