Stalking Donald Trump | Art Histories

This is an extreme version of art predicting life.

In this premiere episode of Art Histories, we explore an extreme version of art predicting life, as immersionist artist David Henry Brown Jr. gives us the details on his performance art stunt advocating for the presidency of Donald Trump back in 1999. Going undercover as a run-of-the-mill Conservative, Brown Jr. draws parallels between performance art and the performance of being "Donald Trump," the public figure. It is a dizzy display of one man’s long-running investigation into one of the most controversial public and political figures in recent American history. Brown Jr. traces the arc of performance art Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign speeches, magazine spreads highlighting his wealth, and as a father to his high profile family.
