This article was originally published on December 18, 2014 but we think it still rocks!

In contrast to Peter Norvig's computer-generated 17,826-word palindrome, which is basically unreadable, award-winning animator, director, and illustrator Lucinda Schreiber relied on her bare hands to create the beautiful, palindrome-esque music video for "Saint Joan," a song off Australian band Husky's LP, Ruckers Hill. Stringing the tune's mournful tone together with a series of animated loops inspired by the song's lyrics, Schreiber, who in the past has made music videos for Gotye, created a piece that can be viewed forwards or backwards, and still provide the same experience.

Explains Schrieber, the film was hand-sketched in New York, "created digitally as two-dimensional frame-by-frame animation" using little more than a tablet and stylus, while the live-action component was shot in Sydney. We have the video on repeat, and the result is like a perfectly looping four-minute GIF—but with music.
