The Angulo brothers have had quite a year with the release of Crystal Moselle’s documentary The Wolfpack, following their childhood proclivities for homemade movie-making as a form of release from their complex home life. Yet, no level of limelight can replace the outright joy and obsession the brothers place on the celebration of All Hallows Eve.The esteemed curator Jeffrey Deitch presents The Wolfpack Show, a look inside the world of the Angulo Brothers. It is an exhibition rife with original artworks in the form of handmade costumes and props the brothers have made throughout their lifetime. On display is an homage to all things horror with an impressive collection of some 100 hand-drawn movie posters, from Silence of the Lambs to Chucky Lives, as well as shelves of cardboard and paper rifles from films like No Country for Old Men and Pulp Fiction. There is a crossbow, axe, and saxophone that are pretty awe-inspiring for the sheer detail and commitment to crafting something out of makeshift materials, and the spot-on full-body costumes from Mad Max and Batman are also on display.

Mukunda Angulo, the central costumemaker and prop master in the family, says that Halloween is his favorite holiday of the year, "And my first memory of it is back in 2000, when I dressed up as Darth Maul from Star Wars." He first learned about the celebration of Halloween through movies. "The idea that you can be anything on Halloween night—an object, a food, a cell, a part of the human body—literally anything. That world just fascinated me all the way," says Mukunda.But don’t get it twisted, these costumes are not just for Halloween, they are essential accoutrements that the Angulo brothers artfully sculpted to recreate the entire worlds of films in real life.
