Turn Your Selfies Into Emoji Artworks

Monet meets the internet.
Kim Kardashian, Emoji Mosaic version

By day, Eric Andrew Lewis works as a web developer at The New York Times. By night, he comes up with concepts such as Emoji Mosaic. His latest project lets you turn any ordinary image into an emoji artwork in a click. Simply upload a photo and watch as cha cha dancers and cheeseburgers swirl on your screen to form the nuances and subtleties of your palette. What better photo to try out than one of selfie queen Kim K? The single devil nestled in her cleavage really is a nice touch. The cool thing is that every Emoji Mosaic result is slightly different (even if you use the same photo), so if you really want the elusive roasted sweet potato emoji to appear just keep re-uploading.

Of course, this isn’t the first time art and emojis have merged. Earlier this year rapper Yung Jake was creating emoji portraits of celebs (including Kim). Let’s see how his version of Larry David shapes up next to an Emoji Mosaic masterpiece…

That's creative licensce for you. In other emoji-related news, there are 38 new emojis being considered for release next year. Emojipedia have taken the liberty to mock up some of the contenders, which include a croissant, face palm, pregnant woman and shaka brah hand movement (it's about time!).
