On pourrait croire que ce sont des instructions de sécurité trouvées dans une vieille Caravelle des années 60. Mais non, les illustrations de Joan Cornellà sont contemporaines, extrêmement contemporaines. Sans bulles et à l’aide d’expressions manichéennes les personnages de ces courts strips apportent un regard aussi absurde que terrifiant sur notre mode de vie. Personne ne raconte mieux l’horreur de la chirurgie plastique, des meurtres à repetition, des organes volés, des trépanations par selfie-stick que des bonhommes rigolards et des animaux sympathiques.

Depuis la sortie de son livre Zonzo, même cette cruche de Paris Hilton est folle de Cornellà. Une exposition, Contains Adult Themes, sera bientôt ouverte à la Leeds Gallery. En attendant, jetez un oeil ci-dessous :
