Incredible Light Art At Kinetica Art Fair 2013

At the 2013 Kinetica Art Fair, we took a look at several artists who are using technology in interesting and beautiful ways. First, we saw how various artists were using light in their work, from Titia Ex's large spherical sculpture The Walk that contains 5,000 pixels created from 35,000 LED lamps, to Amy "Rainbow" Winter's Picasso-inspired sound-reactive dress.

Also included is David Ogle's 018015, which uses illuminated fishing line to create an otherworldly experience of glowing linear forms, and (AA) DLAB's Fallen Star--a projection-mapped architectural sculpture that uses algorithmic and natural systems to generate patterns. Finally we spent some time with sculptor Gregory Barsamian, who walked us through his uncanny animated sculpture, Die Falle, that uses strobe lights to take the surreal images from our dreams and bring them to life in eerie, jerky movements.
