Artist Creates Tiny Bluetooth Speaker That Defies Gravity

Since levitation is basically a thing now, we're looking forward to gravity (or, the lack of) becoming something of a medium for artmaking. Using a magnetic levitation coil and magnet system, Russian multimedia artist ::vtol:: has taken this idea to sonic heights, creating a self-described "zero gravity sound object" that spins and spouts pure data glitch sounds. Hanging impossibly from a mounted arm, the 2014 project employs a Bluetooth sound receiver to beam its C-3PO-esque glitch noise out through its 2-channel micro sound system. While the artist also behind the musical tattoo, pollution-sniffing art-maker, and this hacked Etch A Sketch is mum about the project, humorously named division by zero on his website, it's a fascinating object we'd like to see turning up the (levitating) bass at our next party.
