Moment Factory's Fun And Interactive Musical Wall

Montreal-based Moment Factory creates an imaginative and interactive environment in a children’s hospital.

Moment Factory is a new media and entertainment studio based in Montreal, Canada that specializes in the production of multimedia environments. An industry leader in new media installations, the studio is devoted to trendspotting in new technologies and surpassing expectations. Since their formation in 2001, Moment Factory has created shows and installations for various clients, including musicians such as Madonna, M.I.A, and Arcade Fire.

Recently, Moment Factory created a permanent installation at the CHU Ste-Justine Hospital, a children’s hospital located in Montreal, Canada. The installation is an interactive musical wall that consists of a wall projector connected to motion sensors. Every time a child places his or her hand near the wall, the projection produces colorful lines and shapes with corresponding musical notes. The musical wall is a part of “La maison de la vie,” or “House of life,” a project designed to make hospital visits more pleasant for young patients and families. The rainbow-bright colors and harmonious sounds of Moment Factory’s interactive installation creates an environment that is inviting, creative, and fun.
