New York Giants wideout Odell Beckham Jr. got together with one of his childhood heroes, current ESPN analyst Randy Moss, in the leadup to Monday night's contest with the Cincinnati Bengals. Moss was certainly no stranger to making breathtaking catches, dancing on the field after touchdowns, and generally courting the scorn of the square community, and Beckham wanted him to know just how much Moss's legacy of self-expression meant to him: "Believe it or not, you've taught me more than you can imagine.Thank you for reminding me to stay and be different. Can't stop, won't stop!!"Read what @OBJ_3 & @RandyMoss wrote during their pregame jersey swap! #Respect #GiantsPride pic.twitter.com/kUZHCZTQcO

For his part, Moss wrote some words of encouragement to the young man: "Stay focused. 'Go get it.'"Clearly the old legend has a soft spot for the kid whose career arc so closely resembles his own. Moss came to Beckham's defense after a brutal Week 3 Giants loss in which the wide receiver displayed some notable histrionics: "When you talk about emotion, I'm not mad, looking at how young Odell Beckham is. That's passion, man. There are other ways that I guess people show it. But man, he wants to make plays. He wanted to make plays."Passion and play-making: two things Randy Moss knows best.Odell Beckham Jr.: quickest to 3,500 receiving yards in NFL history (via @EliasSports). pic.twitter.com/CuEIKMjNMF
